Would you like to see a Lego® harbour?
Now you can!

The Upper Austrian Provincial Exhibition of 2021 is taking place in Steyr. The exhibition, entitled ‘Work, Prosperity, Power’ was launched on 24 April and will be open to visitors until 7 November 2021. The exhibition comprises three different locations in Steyr: Museum Arbeitswelt, Innerberger Stadl and Lamberg Castle.

One of the displays at the Innerberger Stadl site is LEGO® exhibit ‘Port of the Future.’

The Lego® exhibit shows to the audience an automated, emission-free port of the future with optimised logistics. In the future, ports will be driverless and autonomous with a multimodal connection of rail, road and inland waterway, together with new modes of transport, like transport drones and Hyperloops.

The Lego® exhibit was built by the Logistikum Steyr of the University of Applied Sciences Upper Austria, which is one of the largest research centres on logistics in the region. It was designed by Anton Edtmeier and the Sustainable Transport team. The Lego® exhibit underlines the importance of the interplay between the different modes of transport, including inland waterways!

As the display is related to REWWay and the IW-NET project, it was funded by the EU and viadonau. READ MORE HERE…
